Cognitive Science Research

SRI's translational neurosciences research laboratory provides investigative studies of complex cognitive processes utilizing customized, validated models that support research from rodent studies to human clinical trials. SRI manages a state-of-the-art laboratory that employs translational models to better understand complex biological and neurological disease mechanisms—and ultimately accelerate and minimize drug discovery risks and development to accelerate time to market for new treatments.

Circulating Tumor Cell Testing Services

Our FASTcell™ testing services deliver rapid, sensitive, and specific characterization of CTCs in whole blood samples, giving cancer clinical researchers a vital new analytical testing tool. The underlying technology can accurately characterize CTCs from a number of cancers (including breast, lung, prostate, colorectal, and leukemia) through a wide array of customizable cancer-specific biomarkers.

Cancer Efficacy Evaluation Services

SRI’s in vivo efficacy testing services include a broad range of xenograft tumor models in mice, including SRI's customized patient derived cellular xenograft model - PDCellX™. PDCellX provides a more predictive model of human response in a variety of tissues and provides advantages such as custom biomarker and pharmacodynamic endpoint analysis and shorter tumor study timelines compared to standard PDX models.

Medicinal Chemistry Services

With extensive applied knowledge and experience, our medicinal chemistry and strategic guidance services can be applied at every stage of the drug discovery process (hit validation, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization) to help create and deliver effective candidates for further preclinical or clinical evaluations. Client investigators can also request specific services, such as custom synthesis and validated testing for physico-chemical, biological, and pharmacokinetic profiling, as well as custom assay development.

Formulation and Manufacturing (CMC) Services

SRI's preformulation and formulation services help optimize safety and efficacy in drug development. Our approach is customized according to each client’s program needs. Our drug formulation experience ranges from preparation of dose formulations for preclinical in vitro and in vivo safety studies, to design and manufacture of finished drug product dosage forms for clinical trials.

Phase I Clinical Trial Services

SRI is pioneering a new paradigm in "enriched" Phase 1 clinical trial services, seamlessly combining Phase 1 clinical trial services with strategic development support. Services are performed at our 16-bed, state-of-the-art facility ideally situated in Plymouth, Michigan between Ann Arbor and Detroit, and conveniently located near three major medical centers.
