For the Department of Defense (DoD) and other clients, SRI supports complex information operations tasks related to electronic warfare, precision Global Positioning System (GPS) applications, and military C4ISR command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations.
SRI offers expertise in threat analysis, requirements definition, systems engineering, hardware and software development, systems integration, and onsite technical support.
Key projects include:
DoD IPv6 Transition Office, Defense Information Standards Agency, and the Army: SRI is researching and documenting policies, protocols, and the network architecture necessary to transition DoD systems to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6).
Army Reprogramming Analysis Team (ARAT) support: SRI built the initial rapid reprogramming infrastructure for target- and threat-sensing systems used during the first Gulf War. Support continues today as ARAT monitors threats worldwide.
Guardrail Common Sensor (GRCS): SRI has supported the Army's RC-12 Guardrail program since the 1970s. Since 1999, SRI has also provided post-production software support for the airborne portion of GRCS System 2.
